Specialist Dustin Small was born in Prescott, Arizona July 7th, 1981.  As a small child he was raised in Bagdad, Arizona where his father worked for the copper mine.  At age 10 he moved to Centralia, Washington with his mother to start life anew after she divorced his father.  Being his Aunt and having helped raise him all his life I joined the family there a year later.  When Dustin turned 18 he came back to Prescott/ Prescott Valley where he got to know his father again and lived with me and my husband Garry.  It was at this time that he joined the Arizona Army National Guard.  After a time he wanted to go back to Washington to find more work than he could find here, so he transferred to the Washington National Guard at Fort Lewis, Washington.  This is where he got his specialist training and was trained in desert warfare to go to Iraq.  His unit has been in Iraq since February of 2004 and are scheduled to stay there for about 2 years.  He is now serving his country near Baghdad, Iraq in or near the town of Balad. Please Remember Dustin and his Company in your prayers and be as proud to be Americans as they are.

"It's a good first step," said Spc. Dustin Small of Centralia, who was in line to snag a job with the Transportation Safety Administration before his National Guard unit was called to active duty.
